Privacy Policy
The short version. HodoDecoder 3D has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics trackers, and nothing to sell about you. We process the minimum required to run the service: payment records handled by Paddle when you buy Pro, an access token, the soundings you explicitly save, and ordinary server logs. Your app settings live in your own browser.
1.What we collect, and why
- Nothing, for browsing. The website and the free app require no sign-up. There is no account system.
- Purchase records (Pro). Checkout is operated by Paddle.com as merchant of record: Paddle collects your name, email, and payment details under Paddle's privacy policy. We never see or store card numbers. Our servers keep the resulting entitlement record: subscription and transaction identifiers, subscription status, and the access token minted for you — retained while your subscription exists and as required for accounting.
- Saved soundings (Pro). Soundings you explicitly save are stored on our servers, scoped to your subscription so no other user can list or access them, and a copy is kept in your browser's local storage for instant access. They are meteorological data, not personal data, and are kept until you delete them — deleting a saved sounding removes both the device copy and the server copy.
- Server logs and rate limiting. Like nearly every web service, our infrastructure logs requests, including IP addresses, for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. The free tier's daily pull limit is counted per IP address in transient server memory.
- Contact form. If you write to us via the form, your name, email, and message are delivered through Formspree and used only to reply.
2.What stays on your device
App preferences — display settings, audience tier, stereo calibration, your Pro access token, and locally saved data — are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device unless a feature explicitly sends them (e.g., saving a sounding to your Pro library).
3.AI-assisted analysis (Pro)
The AI analysis feature sends the sounding under analysis (meteorological values only — no personal information) to Anthropic's API to generate the report text. The request is made by our server; your IP address is not forwarded.
4.Service providers
We use a small set of processors to operate the service: Paddle (payments, merchant of record), Netlify (website and app hosting), Google Cloud (backend compute and storage, US region), Anthropic (AI analysis), Formspree (contact form), and Google Fonts (font delivery on this website; your browser requests fonts from Google's servers). Each receives only what its function requires.
5.Cookies and tracking
We set no advertising or analytics cookies. Paddle's checkout may set functional cookies needed to complete a purchase. That's it.
6.Your rights
Email contact@fullcourtpressllc.com to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you (for payment records, we will coordinate with Paddle, which has its own obligations as merchant of record). We honor such requests regardless of where you live, including rights under the GDPR and similar laws where they apply.
7.Children
The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8.Changes and contact
